More than half a century ago, in a small riverside village of Bangladesh, lived a gifted singer and songwriter named Yusuf Morol. He wrote songs of love, devotion, and the beauty of ordinary life — songs that echoed through village fairs and tea stalls, carried on by word of mouth, not technology.

But Yusuf never had the chance to protect his creations. There were no ISRC numbers, no digital registries — only notebooks filled with lyrics, and cassettes now fading with time. When his descendants tried to revive his music, they discovered a painful truth: without official registration, they couldn't claim ownership or royalties. The songs were out there, but the rights were gone.

Years later, his great-grandson — inspired by Yusuf's lost legacy — founded Mohikontok, a platform dedicated to helping today's artists protect what they create. The name Mohikontok means "Two way river" — a tribute to every artist whose work deserves to be remembered and recognized.
